Not your regular burger patty..

Who likes oats? Me, me, me! I like ‘em sweet and like ‘em spicy. It lends itself to all kinds of dishes. Its healthy and so filling too. These cutlets are one of my favourites. They are good for the tiffin, as a teatime snack or you can even use them as a replacement for your usual burger patty. I use oats instead of breadcrumbs to coat my cutlets so that they have a nice, crunchy texture.

Ingredients:

4 potatoes, boiled and mashed

1 grated carrot

1 green capsicum thinly cut

1 cup boiled chicken

1 ½ cup dry roasted oats

½ cup chopped coriander

½ cup chopped mint

2 teaspoons ginger garlic paste

1 teaspoon chaat masala

1 teaspoon coriander powder

1 teaspoon pesto sauce

Salt as required

2 tablespoon whole wheat flour diluted in water

1 cup or thereabouts oats for coating your cutlets

Method:

Combine all your ingredients in a bowl. Shape into circular patties. Dip in whole wheat flour batter and roll in some oats. Drizzle a pan with some oil and shallow fry your cutlets. Enjoy!
